When CBSE announced the JEE (Main) ranks; it proved to be a bright day for Maharashtra. All the top three rankers in JEE were from the state. Sankalp Gaur from Pune, followed by Tanuj Kaza from Mumbai and Giridhar S from Pune were declared the top 3 ranks.
Sankalp, who scored 345 out of 360 in the exam, got 97.80% in his Class XII CBSE boards. Tanuj, who scored 335 in Main, secured 95.85% in HSC. Giridhar S, a KV student, who scored 321 in JEE exams, achieved 98% in CBSE.
Sankalp planned to opt for electrical engineering in IIT-Bombay, but his ultimate aim is to pursue pure physics.Giridhar too wishes to pursue computer science and engineering from IIT-Bombay.
