Maharashtra witnessed the best result in HSC in 2015 after a decade. In Maharashtra, 13.4 lakh students had appeared for the examination among which 11.8 lakh students passed. In Mumbai, 2.7 lakh students had passed from among 3.2 lakh students. The overall pass percentage of Maharashtra was 87.9% while 86% in Mumbai in the year 2015. As usual girls outshone boys this year too. In Maharashtra, the success rate of girls was 92.4% whereas for boys it was 84.5%. In Mumbai, the success rate for girls was90.7% whereas for boys it was 82.1%. Konkan achieved the first position in the state by securing a pass percentage of 94.2% in the year 2015.
