A total of 5,760 students from over 30 schools, who participated in a solar cooking initiative were in for a treat. Besides savouring the noodles they cooked during the initiative, they were amazed to learn as how sun’s rays could be used to prepare a meal, that too without causing any harm to the environment.
The initiative, titled Suryakumbh, was organised by the Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) at MIT College grounds. It also aimed to find a spot into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Haribhauji Bagade, speaker of the Maharashtra legislative assembly, was present at the event said, “With growing need for both water and electricity, it is necessary that we utilise sun rays to generate energy. This would not only reduce our dependency on electricity but also help curb pollution,“
