To ensure the headcount of the number of out-of-school children in the state, the school education department decided to hold day-long survey on the month of July 4. According to the government resolution, officials from various government agencies would scan the state to count the number of children not enrolled in school or those who are not attending school.
The survey was conducted by government official teams at municipal corporations, districts, talukas and villages. Officials visited every houses, crowded pockets, railway stations, bus stands, slums, foot paths, traffic and railway signals to ensure that none of the ‘out-of-school’ children are left out of the survey. To make the survey a successful one, teams were urged to use social media, advertising and publicity by celebrities and others.
