The Bishop Lefroy Memorial Interschool Dramatics competition was hosted by St. James’ School over two days at Gyan Manch.La Martiniere for Boys, La Martiniere for Girls, St. Thomas’ Day School, St. John’s Diocesan for Girls, Ballygunge Shiksha Sadan and St. James School took part in this competition. The judges for the competition were Katy Lai Roy, Rana Basu Thakur and actress Sudipa Basu. The Chief Guest for the first day was Chandan Sen. The second day had Churni Gangly as the Chief Guest. The actress was overwhelmed by the performances.
St. James’ School won the Best play award for ‘Haripada Haribol’, an adaptation of Anton Chekov’s ‘Death of a Clerk’. The second prize went to La Martiniere for Girls who presented ‘Beautiful Boy’, the story of a girl who wants to become a boy. They won the Best Actor award as well as the Best Script award.
