The FilmIt workshop hosted by Sri Sri Academy helped students to learn the finer nuances of film making. Two independent film makers took the centre stage at the FilmIt workshop 2015 and a hall full of cinema fans listened intently to every single word they delivered. The workshop was organised in collaboration with Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) and The Helen Hamlyn Trust. The workshop urged the participants to use camera as a tool to bring about change in the society. Students from around 12 schools participated in the workshop. The multi-cultural event was commenced with a demonstration of two best short films of last year. The first documentary filmed a lost form of art in Jaipur, while the other depicted a day in the life of a tea seller in Mumbai. To introduce the concepts of film making to the students, two Delhi based independent film makers, Ankit Pogula and Shreya Kakria of Tuning Fork Films screened a short film made by them, titled “Colours of Hooghly”. The film depicted its various facets by making full use of the landscape of Hooghly River.
