IGCSE or International General Certificate of Secondary Education was developed by the University of Cambridge International Examinations, is academically rigorous, internationally used and specialised English language curriculum offered to students to prepare for International Baccalaureate. IGCSE provides a balanced education to their students so that they can build a great career ahead.
Grading System:The curriculum has eight-point grading scale from A+ to G, A+ being the highest. Besides being balanced, it is flexible as well. Most subjects offer a choice between core curriculum and extended curriculum, offering students of all abilities the freedom to choose subjects that are right for them, thereby offering opportunity to score good grades. Currently, IGCSE is a two-year programme starting at the Class 9 level. A student who has completed his/her schooling from any other board can join IGCSE at the Class 9 level.
Subjects on offer:Students are required to take a minimum of 5 subjects and maximum of 14 subjects. There are 5 essential subjects to choose from:
Group I: languages
Group II: Humanities & Social Science
Group III: Sciences
Group IV: Mathematics
Group V: Creative, Technical and Vocational
Certification:The international Certificate of Education (ICE) is awarded to students opting to take seven or more subjects as opposed to five subjects and passing them.
