The Newtown School: an initiative of Savitri Education Foundation, opened its doors to students from Class Nursery to Class VIII recently. The school has three laboratories for three subjects, sprawling acres for sports, soothing indoor décor and much more. It follows the CBSE curriculum and comprises of 30 students for each section for each class. The school has got a robotics laboratory to help students explore the secrets of mechanical engineering; along with a maths lab so that the students can find solutions to the toughest problems and an English lab to brush up on the language skills.
The school has even constructed activity rooms for sculpture, yoga, dance and instrumental music to maintain a balance between studies and co-curricular activities. The school is the first in the city to be registered with the Indian Green Building Council and boasts an impressive décor with indoor plants and colourful climbers. A sewage treatment plant, an LED lighting system, a green-complaint rooftop flooring and eco-friendly paint on the walls makes the school environment eco-friendly.
The school security is the best thing to describe. There are 24-hour CCTV surveillance in classrooms, corridors and office area and buses are provided with Global Positioning System (GPS). Parents were seen to be really joyous at the inauguration ceremony and happy to be a part of the school.
