The Newtown School gets established at Action Area I, Newtown. Sessions for the academy year had begun on the month of April, 2015. At present the school will be providing from Classes nursery to VIII and will be following the CBSE curriculum. Each classes are supposed to have eight sections with 30 students each. The initiative to establish the school was taken in the middle of 2012 after the director participated in an e-auction initiated by HIDCO.
The school is owned by Savitri Education Foundation with Sunil Agarwal and Sanjay Khemka as trustee members. Malini Bhagat is the director of the academics while Satabdi Bhattacharya is the principal. The campus is spread across two acres with two blocks connected by a pathway. A basketball court separates the two blocks flanked by a swimming pool and a green patch on either side.
The school provides rooms for dance, music, sculpture and yoga and also has maths and robotics lab. The school has an auditorium which can accommodate around 300 persons. There are even separate libraries for junior and senior sections. The school provides great security services with 190 CCTV cameras across the campus including classrooms, corridors and office areas. School buses are GPS enabled. Parents receives text messages once the bus starts from school another when it approaches the drop point.
