They all fought against the odd –
Nidhi Kotian of PACE Junior Science College, Borivili, secured 89.84% despite being born with complete speech and hearing impairment. She was the SSC topper in her school with 93.36% and also qualified for the JEE-A exams. She planned to pursue Computer Science from IIT-B or NITK Surathkal. Although she underwent a cochlear implant and wears a hearing aid since when she was six years, her speech and hearing power is not entirely efficient.
Vipul Pulekar of VES College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Chembur, secured 89.23%in spite of several obstacles. He managed to secure 92.36% in the 10th exams. Vipul’s family earns very less and his mother suffers from serious health issues. He discovered ways to help improve his family’s condition. He used to sell his paintings online and kept the money aside to secure his higher studies. He planned to pursue Commercial Arts from JJ School of Arts.
Anuradha Chauhan Pawar of Bhartiya Vidyamandir, Worli scored 67% in Commerce despite the fact that she has two daughters; a seven year old and a 9 month old. Anuradha used to study in a night school after completing her household works during daytime. She got married when she was in class IX and her husband did not let her to study. But Anuradha was adamant; she divorced her husband and after a seven year gap completed her class X examination.
Priyanshi Chokshi of HR College of Commerce and Economics scored 94.30%. She is a national level swimmer and an Odissi dancer lost the first rank in her college by one mark only. She has been a trained swimmer for seven years and also won a gold medal. Priyanshi excelled both in academics and extra-curricular activities.
