Times NIE reports events at various city schools:

  • DPS International School, Saket: DPS International School, Saket hosted an English Literary Festival ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns 2015’, under the aegis of DPS Society for DPS Schools across the country. More than 400 students from classes VI to XII accompanied by 80 teachers participated in the events. Activities included digital comic strip making, poetry, skit, debate and literary quiz.
  • Kulachi Hansraj Model School: Kulachi Hansraj Model School celebrated its 43rd Annual Function and prize giving ceremony. Students presented Devanampiya Piyadasi-Ashoka towards Moksha, a theatrical adaptation of Ashoka. Chief Guest, former chairman of ISRO, praised the school’s aim to provide holistic development to students. The school Principal presented the Annual Report and gave away the awards for academic excellence.
  • Salwan Public School Afternoon: As a part of an exchange programme, Principal of Salwan Public School Afternoon, Rajinder Nagar along with school coordinator paid a reciprocal visit to a renowned school in London. The programme provided a global dimension in the study of subjects like Geography, English, Science, Mathematics, etc. information was also shared on aspects like appointment of teachers, assessments and training of teachers, student’s assessment, tracking student’s behaviour, etc. Power Point presentations and worksheets were exchanged too. The programme helped students in broadening educational horizons.
  • Amity International School: The stimulation of the Indian Parliament was done by the students of class VIII of Amity International School, Sec-6, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad. Children understood the parliamentary proceedings and various processes involved in making India the second largest democracy. The chief guest of the occasion was the Former Minister of Home Affairs, Government of India. He enlightened the young parliamentarians on the intricacies and working of the august House. Students discussed and debated on burning topics like: the intolerance wave in India and women in combat roles in the Armed Forces.
  • Kamal Public Sr. Sec. School: Kamal Public Sr. Sec. School, Vikaspuri celebrated its Prize Distribution Ceremony and Annual Class Presentation. The ceremonial function was presided over by school chairman and school principal. The programme was initiated with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries, followed by Ganesh Stuti sung by the school choir group.
