Times NIE reports events at various city schools:

  • Montfort School, Ashok Vihar: As a part of the student teacher exchange programme, a group of three teachers and nine students from Richmond College, Galle, Sri Lanka, visited Montfort School, Ashok Vihar. The delegation visited Delhi and Agra, shop at different places and tried different cuisines during their seven-day visit. School Principal thanked his counterpart Principal in extending constant support to the programme and sent a small token of appreciation for him to Sri-Lanka.
  • Ramkrishna Sr.Sec School, Vikaspuri: Ramkrishna Sr. Sec. School, Vikaspuri organised the winter carnival 2015-16, an open talent hunt show. It rolled out an exciting medley of events that called the students from various neighbouring schools to express their skills, talents, wits and capabilities in one common form. Various game stalls were put up in the premises along with the food junction where delicious food was served. The event concluded with the distribution of surprise and attractive prizes for the students.
  • Mount Abu Public School, Sector 5, Rohini:Mount Abu Public School, Sector 5, Rohini was conferred with the Kautilya School Award for best school in Innovative Teaching Methodology and the Colosseum School Award for best school in dance drama and cultural activities at a function organised by Parakh School Awards 2016. Kirron Kher presented the award to the school principal.
  • Happy Hours School, Pitampura: A team of four teachers from Happy Hours School, Pitampura, visited Boothferry Primary School (UK) to study their educational practices and to plan new projects together. The five-day programme gave a glimpse of school life in Yorkshire and the opportunity to meet students from different parts of the world. The projects were plannedkeeping the international themes in mind.
  • Hillwoods Academy, Preet Vihar:SpicMacay, an initiative by Virasat, organised a workshop at Hillwoods Academy, Preet Vihar. The session was conducted by Odissi dancer Sharon Lowen. She helped the students to bring out the differences that exists between various positions, accessories and attire, which are unique to every dance forms. The students were also encouraged to come up and perform some basic steps and mudras of the Odissi dance.
  • Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vasant Vihar:As a part of the year-long birth centenary celebrations, titled ‘Chinmaya Jyoti Yatra’, the studentsof Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vasant Vihar displayed their creative, scientific and aesthetic talent by showcasing their innovative projects and working models. Folk dances were performed on stage which mesmerised the audience.
  • DAV School, Sector 9, RK Puram:Sai Pratik Biswal, a student of DAV School, Sector 9, RK Puram, won the first prize in the 4th KYU (7th level) international competition among 23 of his counterparts around the world. Global Association of Japanese Soroban& Mental Arithmetic Association (GAJSMA) conducted the examination, which was held at Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
  • DPS, East of Kailash: DPS East of Kailash paid a heartfelt tribute to one of the greatest American films of all times “The Sound of Music”. All the students of Class IV mesmerised the audience by reliving the magic of the movie, with their excellent theatrical performance, interwoven with scintillating dances to the memorable songs from the movie.
