Times NIE School Buzz reports events at various city schools:
- OPG World School, Sector 19B, Dwarka: OPG World School, Sector 19B, Dwarka, organised their annual day by presenting “Two Worlds” – A music dance drama. Cultural items consisting of a shloka and Odissi performance were presented by the students. Deputy Director of Education was the Chief Guest for the event. The day also witnessed a colourful exhibition, which was a part of the ISA project undertaken by the school. These events were followed by the prize distribution ceremony wherein the young achievers were acknowledged and felicitated for the hard work that they has put in throughout the year.
- NC Jindal Public School, Punjabi Bagh: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam as the World Student’s Day, a science symposium was organised at NC Jindal Public School, Punjabi Bagh. Eminent scientists, researchers, educators, students and teachers from the field of science converged at the symposium to celebrate the International Year of ‘Soils’ and ‘Light’ 2015. The event also marked the golden jubilee of the school. Around 21 schools of Delhi/NCR participated in the event.
- Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vasant Vihar: Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vasant Vihar organised its annual sports meet. School Principal declared the event open. This was followed by a welcome speech by the sports captain. An inter-house cricket match was also played between Friendship and Freedom House. School vice sports captain gave the vote of thanks.
- Carmel School, Anand Niketan: Students of Mt. Carmel School, Anand Niketan participated in the Pacific International School Games 2015 for basketball which was held in Australia. Deputy Chief Minister, Education and Sports Minister felicitated the students as they represented India in the basketball match.
- Sachdeva Public School, Rohini: Students of class X and VIII of Sachdeva Public School, Rohini, won the third position at the city level in the Northern Indian Science Fair 2016, organised by National Science Centre, Delhi. The winners received a trophy, books and a cash prize of 1000/- each.
- SD Public School, Pitampura: Principal of SD Public School, Pitampura, represented India at the 6th Asia Pacific School Leadership Academy, Seoul, Republic of Korea organised by APCEIU under the auspices of UNESCO. The programme aimed to enable the school leaders to have a deeper understanding of Education for International Understanding in fostering a culture of peace. A CD was launched by the title “Mathematic Movement”.
