Times NIE School Buzz reports events at various city schools:
- Amity International School, Vasundhara, Sector 1: Amity International School, Vasundhara, Sector 1, conducted an inter Amity mental math quiz competition. Three students, per class, from every school participated in the competition. It was held in two groups of four teams. First and second winners of both the groups took part in the final round. Several rounds like audio stories, practical application, computation, rapid fire etc. kept the stage on the edge.
- MDH International School, Dwarka: MDH International School, Dwarka celebrated its annual sports meet Umang at NSIT, Dwarka, New Delhi. Chess Grandmaster Sriram Jha was the chief guest along with Veena Tandon as the guest of honour. The programme commenced with the lighting of the torch by council members. The annual report of the events held throughout the session was comprehended by the school principal. A presentation of yoga, aerobics, dance and music astonished the spectators. The event concluded with the grand finale and releasing of balloons.
- Amity International School, Saket: Amity International School, Saket held its annual sports meet. School Principal welcomed the gathering and emphasised on the positive outcome of the field activities. She also presented the annual report. The students participated in various races displaying their sportsmanship in every event. The highlight of the show was a spectacular presentation of the first Olympic Games in Greece performed by students of classes IX and X.
- Evergreen Sr. Sec. School, Vasundhara Enclave: Evergreen Sr. Sec. School, Vasundhara Enclave organised a three-day inter-school sports carnival. The opening ceremony began with a soulful rendition by the school choir, followed by a mime presentation ‘Yeh Hai Dilli Meri Jaan’. School managing director presided over the event. Over 40 schools from Delhi and NCR participated in various sports events. The closing ceremony consisting of group consisting of group song by school choir, sports, dance and pyramid formation by students was appreciated by the Chief Guest. School Principal delivered the vote of thanks and congratulated the winners.
- GD Salwan Public School, Rajinder Nagar: GD Salwan Public School, Rajinder Nager organised a book carnival, inaugurated by school chairperson. Various publishers showcased their published books. Viva and the American Center also conducted quiz competitions to encourage children and inculcate the love of reading in them. Beautiful stories were narrated using puppets, voice modulation, facial expressions and gestures. Students of Classes VI-IX put up stalls of fun games and exciting activities. Children also enjoyed each and every stall and were rewarded with chocolates and books.
