#WeForBose is the movement where14 Top Schools of Kolkata have joined hands to form a forum to plough till the mystery of Netaji is unravelled. There’s a lull in unravelling the mystery over the disappearance of Netaji after a sudden spurt in activity by the governments -the state and the Centre. But it has been decided by group of schoolkids to not wait to get to the bottom of the secretfrom the policymakers. At least 14 city schools have joined hands to form a forumto plough more till the mystery is unravelled and coax the governments and Netaji researchers. The movement, christened #WeForBose, will work both on and offline to build up tempo and create a concerted students’ voice demanding “justice” for India’s “most courageous”and yet “wronged” hero. The fulcrum of the movement will be the St. James School. After conceiving the idea, two boys of the school involved their teachers and started spreading the word among other schools. Within no time, other schools pledged to join the movement.
A programme -Reignite the Mystery -has been organized by St James on May10to officially kick-start the movement, Joseph Chacko, the project in charged teacher said. The top Schools of Kolkata -Don Bosco Park Circus, Calcutta Girls, Heritage, Mahadevi Birla Shishu Vihar, Future Foundation, Pratt Memorial, Loreto House, Apeejay Schools and St Thomas Khidderpore have joined hands among them.“When the state government released the classified files on Netaji, we were super excited. We thought we will finally get to know what happened post the air crash. Unfortunately, the files threw up more questions,” said Samriddha Ghosh, the co-ordinator of the project from Class XII.
The members of #WeForBose have gleaned newspapers and CDs of the de-classified files. On the basis of this, a research has been launched by the young crusaders that focuses on issues that have been “left dangling“. “While the Mukherjee Commission was given the responsibility to UN tangle the mystery, its conclusion that Netaji did not die in the plane crash, has not been accepted by subsequent governments. Why?” questioned the Forum.
Again, if the Gumnami Baba theory has always been given so much importance, “Isn’t it strange that the man as courageous as Netaji would remain in hiding? “ Samriddha said. The Students have also taken the newspaper details of pertinent missing files and the answer as to how the files went missing will be pressed by them.
On May10, The findings of the students will be placed for debate and discussion and a resolution will be drawn on the future functioning of the forum. For the growth of a strongvirtual community, the students will use hashtags tolink up to Netaji researchers and other students. The findings and demands will be sent to both the state and central governments by the platform to keep up the pressure.
“We were surprised when our students wanted to join #WeForBose, but when we went through the details, we were impressed with the cause and encouraged our boys and girls to be part of the pressure group,” Rita Chatterjee, principal of Apeejay schools said.
