A rank of 4122 in the recently declared WBJEE Results 2016 might not be that good a rank to some people, but then Madhurita Saha of Siliguri is not one of the ordinary girls you see everyday. She is the 3rd rank holder among the person with disabilities list and is now undecided between a career as an engineer or a career in medicine. Her disability involves one of her limbs being rendered useless. Her condition never demeaned her spirit and dint chain her up. She said how she was ahead of her friends in learning house chores thanks to her mother and how her father kept her motivated. With a milestone achieved, Madhurita is as confident as ever to continue her higher education.
With 2006 rank in WBJEE Trinankur Kirtania from Barasat PCS Government High School has shown that nothing is impossible if there is will. He suffers from left limb disability but he was supported in his endeavor throughout by his parents. His mother Anusua recalled how they have took him to all his coaching classes so that he doesn’t feel disadvantaged. He secured a good score in IIT-JEE (Mains) but his parents would prefer him studying in Kolkata, near to home. They are hoping for a selection of their son at IIEST.
Topping the disability list, with the overall rank of 857, is Souvik Kumar Dolui, who is blind in one eye and partially impaired in another. But that never stopped the Midnapore Collegiate School student from achieving this feat. He was always among the top scorers in school. His parents want him to study computer science or electronics engineering at Jadavpur University. With his rank, his schoolteacher father, Shantinath Dolui, is optimistic about his son’s chances for eligibility in JU. Dolui’s mother is also a teacher.
