Admissions open for ‘UDAAN’ 2016: Girls enrolled under CBSE schools invited to apply

Admissions open for ‘UDAAN’ 2016, and girl applicants are thereby invited for applying to the CBSE and MHRD launched joint venture campaign .The program is launched with the motive to encourage the girl students in their higher studies. A few highlights of this campaign is:

  • Provision to mentor select 1000 girl students for admission into the Premier Centrally Funded Engineering/ Technical Institutes in India
  • Selection of the students will be done purely on the basis of merit
  • Reservation norms are rescheduled as:
  1. OBC (NCL)- 27%
  2. SC- 15%
  3. ST-7.5%
  4. PWD-3%
  • Free of cost tablets, tutorials, lectures and study material will be provided to the selected students.
  • Student helpline will be made available to enhance learning
  • There will be periodic counseling to guide students and parents
  • Financial aid to students in the form of tuition fees and admission deposit with minimum 75% attendance in assessment during UDAAN classes and getting admission into the IITs/NITs/ other centrally funded engineering colleges/ technical institutes.

The program however has eligibility criteria fixed for selection:

  • The program is open to Indian citizens residing in India only
  • The girl student has to be currently enrolled in class XI with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) subjects only from KVs/JNVs/ Government Schools of any recognized board in India/ CBSE affiliated private schools
  • Minimum 70% marks in class X overall and 80% marks in Science and Mathematics. For Boards which follow CGPA a minimum of 8 and a GPA of 9 in Science and Mathematics is a necessary requirement.
  • The annual family income should be less than Rs 6 lakhs per annum

  • The selection of student will be considered against the chosen city option for the weekly contact class
  • Applicant may choose the city centre from the list provided at the end of this advertisement
