As a noted alumni of the Ballygunge Government High School, The Ballygunge Government High School Alumni Association in order to pay tribute for his excellent contribution to the cinema, arranged Alumni Event 2016 –an evening”Satyajit Smaran” for Satyajit Ray. At the event, his son, Sandip Ray shared anecdotes about his father and his style of filmmaking and along with that their was a short film screened on Ray too.
The event was graced by the Director, Mr Kaushik Ganguly who delivered the Satyajit Ray Memorial Lecture. Another highlight of the event was a short film competition held for budding directors. Of the 8 entries screened , Aniket Mishra’s work was awarded the first prize by Sandip Ray. A digitized version of “ Pother Panchali “ made the evening even more fascinating.
