A large pool of students securing above 90% makes room for themselves at top ranked junior colleges, making it difficult even for students with a percentage above 80-85%. The general merit list announced by the deputy director of education’s office revealed that 13,512 out of two lakh students who applied for online admissions secured above 90% and more than 39000 students scored between 80-90%. Students with such high percentage makes it difficult for students even with good marks. They take up seats in popular colleges, keeping cut-offs really high.
