CBSE Class XII Results 2016: Girls fare better in pass percentage than boys

The much awaited CBSE Class XII Results 2016 are finally declared. The top 3 ranks in the All India merit list for the CBSE class XII Examination 2016 have been bagged by girls. Surprisingly also, The overall pass percentage of girls is approximately 10% higher than the pass percentage of the boys. However, although no student from West Bengal  has made it to the All India merit list , with 98.2 % in Science stream, Anirban Deb, from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Salt Lake, Kolkata is allegedly the State topper.
Anirban wants to become a doctor and indulge in the research field concerning diagnosis of cancer. He has already sat for NEET-I and has his eyes set for the admission test to get into  AIMS. He also expressed his concern over the turmoil over state joint exams and NEET but he is prepared to sit for the NEET-II as well if required.
Anirban is followed by Akansha Ray, also from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, who is the second state topper with an aggregate of 97% in Science stream. She aspires to qualify in the IIT-JEE advanced to pursue maths and chemistry, her favourite subjects, at one of the elite institutes—the IIT’s. But when inquired of her long term goals, she mentioned about her interest to go for IAS, because according to her, a thick pay at the end of the month isn’t something she is striving for but instead wants to hold the reigns of the government to help her country.
Romik Bandhopadhyay, from DPS Ruby Park is in all probability the third state topper with an aggregate of 96.6%. Interested to become an engineer and pursue electronics and communication, Romik is gearing up for the all important IIT-JEE advanced test.
Though the standard of the paper was a bit high, Rekha Vaisya, Principal of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan said otherwise. She explained that the fact that the likes of Anirban and other merit list students are getting 100 in chemistry and maths tends to show that with a proper reading habit and revision-based method of studying, no milestone is impossible to achieve.
In commerce stream, the probable state topper Subham Chaudhary from Lakshmipat Singhaniya Schooln has already sat for CAT. Son of a lawyer, Subham also aspires to be like his father, a lawyer when he grows up. In Arts stream, Vedika Maheshwari from Sushila Birla Girls Academy is alleged state topper with an aggregate of 96.4%. She has her eyes set upon NIFT(National Institute of fashion technology) because she wants to be  afashion designer and is very confident about herself making it through, although she is a bit undecided over going to Mumbai or Delhi.
The total number of candidates appearing for CBSE Class XII Exam is 10,65,179. Overall pass percentage is 83.05%, with girls having a pass percentage of 88.58% , doing much better than boys with 78.85%. Thiruvananthapuram is the region with the highest pass percentage—around 97.61%, followed by Chennai (92.63%) and Bhubaneshwar(87.64%). The All India topper, Sukriti Gupta from Ashok Vihar Monfort School, Delhi has her aggregate set at 497. She is from science stream and is followed by Palak Goyal from  Tagore Public School, Kurukshetra, Haryana who has received 496. Soumya Pal from Carnal  St. Teresa Convent school is tied at the third spot with Ajish Shekhar from PSBB Secondary school, Chennai with a total marks of 495. Interestingly, over the last four years, candidates from the capital city is finding themselves ace-ing the Board Exams comprehensively.
