On Monday, the first merit list for science stream in about 200 schools of Ahmedabad city and rural, for admission to class eleven, was declared showing that Class IX science cut-off for Ahmedabad Schools drop by 5%.The first merit list ended five percent below last year’s cut-off of 90% in most schools. By the time the second and third merit list comes out, the cut-off percentage may drop further from current 85% to 80% in reputed schools, according to sources.
A senior official said that it is noteworthy that the admission process in city and rural schools are held according to the central admission procedure.
According to the count, There are about 13,134 seats for science stream in the city area, while there are about 4,000 such seats in the rural schools, taking the total number seats for science stream in Ahmedabad (city and rural) to approximately 17,000.Thescience stream admission process for filling up forms was held from May 26 to May 28.
The cut-off percentage for its own students at St. Xavier’s Loyola remained 73% while for newcomers it stood at 92%.
For CN Vidhyalaya the cut-off for its own students was at 80.33%, while it ended up at 86 percentage for newcomers.
