Over the years there has been a rise in the marks obtained by students of all streams in their plus 2 Board Exams, and though not proportionately, but still there has also been a rise in the Cut-Off Scores for College. Yet, after the first merit list was out in most of the prominent city colleges, a grim picture was in view. In major colleges, even the last candidate in the first merit list has secured way above the minimum criteria. Also, the cutoff score to find a name in the first merit list has significantly increased over the past few years. At Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration, the total number of seats combining the morning and day session is 293 for general category students.
