Swapna, aged 16, reads in Class X of BDE Society Girls High School had a speech and hearing problem. She inspired and motivated her mother Sujata Reshmi who is a home maker, to do something for children like her. When Swapna was 9 months old, a local doctor said her parents that Swapna had a speech and hearing problem. Her parents were worried and then they came across the ‘All India Institute of Speech and Hearing’ in Mysuru.

They took Swapna to Mysuru and stayed there for three years for her daughter’s check-up. They returned home and learnt that many other children undergoes the same kind of problem. They then planned to build a Speech therapy centre in 2008 for such kids without a single help from the government.
