Several steps are being taken by the Delhi Government related to education. The AAP Government have doubled the plan expenditure for education and increased the budget for the sector to Rs. 9836 crore in the financial year 2015-16. Rs. 4570 crore of this amount is plan expenditure. The Government is also working to improve the quality of education in all 1011 government schools by providing modern facilities and infrastructure and 50 schools will be developed as model schools. The student-teacher ratio will also be developed and improved with recruitment of 20,000 regular teachers. AAP led Delhi Government has decided to cut syllabus by 25% from class VI-VIII to reduce burden on students and to make education more skill based.
