With several schools and college campuses flooded due to continuous heavy rain in Chennai, institutions are busy setting their campus in order. Several institutes had decided to schedule extra classes to compensate for the academic classes disrupted due to rain. With the interior corridors as well as the roads outside being difficult to wade through for students, colleges like Sathyabama University had already decided to close the college for the rest of the week even before the government extended the holidays till November 22. Schools are seen busy cleaning and disinfecting their campuses.
A teacher of Chinmaya Vidyalaya said that they used motor pumps to clear out the water in the premises as they did not want any mosquitoes breeding in the campus. But they were worried about the slush on the roads leading to the school. Schools are looking forward to complete lessons by putting up extra hours especially on Saturdays. Schools are even thinking to cut down on Christmas vacations to make up for the delay.
