With Pune District aiming for a 100 percent Aadhar coverage, the district administration is gearing up to focus on the student population-aiming to cover 12 lakh student population of adults who have not got their Aadhar cards readied to achieve the 100 percent target. Presently the district has a coverage of 80 lakh Aadhar coverage and with the population being 99 lakh as per the recent data, the district administration is taking all efforts to complete the drive at the earliest.
After having already crossed their December 2015 deadline, the administration has put in more machines and are reaching out to schools for this special drive. The administration has written to all the school principals to ensure that they place the machines in school and help complete the drive at the earliest.
