The government had extended the deadline for nursery admission applications under the economically weaker section category (EWS) category by two weeks till 5th February. The move is expected to bring relief to parents struggling with online applications. The Delhi Government had introduced portal for online admissions under EWS category this year. 64000 applications had received seats in private schools. The Directorate of Education had also issued a circular in this regard, clarifying that while the date for receiving applications had been extended, the rest of the admission process will be held as per the earlier schedule.
Nursery admissions had begun on 1st January and will end on 31st March. The first list is scheduled to be declared on 29th February. The deadline has also been extended for admissions to entry-level classes in private schools under the EWS and disadvantaged group categories.
