A bunch of ICSE and ISC students took everything in their stride and proved impossible is nothing by fighting through life-threatening disorders or crippling disabilities and coming out with flying colours in their ICSE RESULT 2016. While Diganta Chakrabarty, a DPS New Town student, took his ISC with a severe respiratory disorder and scored a whopping 91%, Heritage School student Raghav Chandak fought with an AGAI cer to score 95.8%. “I had not expected this much. But I was determined to do well. It feels great to have scored above 90%. I wish to study aeronautical engineering,” said Diganta. He suffered from a severe respiratory distress during his ISC exam because of which he had to take his biology and mathematics exams from his hospital bed. The brave heart admits he could have done better “Yes, the illness set me back. Had I been able to take all my tests normally, I would possibly have scored a higher percentage. Overall, I could have done better. But then I am ready to move on.”
On the other hand, Raghav is happily satisfied with his score. In spite of not being able to attend his school for six months because of being diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma, he scored well. Had he attended his classes regularly, he could have achieved better felt his father Manoj Chandak. “Any other student would perhaps have given up, but not my son. The illness steeled his nerves. The more he fell sick, the better he focused on his studied. It was amazing to see him fight like a champion,” he said. The school teacherssupported his endeavour and also held special classes to offerhim guidance that would lead-up to the exam.“Without their help, he couldn’t have achieved this. But his grit is remarkable,” said Chandak. Raghav wants to do his further studies by taking up computer science after his ISC.
