For a better preparation before HSC examinations, students were given a chance to learn from the stalwarts to experience a new model of teaching. Before the exams, classes went beyond the last bell; with retired faculty members tutoring the academically weak students and pushing the brighter ones. Extra tests, quizzes and weekly contests were arranged at several classrooms.

NM College recorded a constant pass percentage but the count of distinction holders went up. Out of 1,085 students who took the class XII examination, 1,043 scored a distinction this year. At Somaiya, students were put through the “Learn from Stalwarts programme” before the examination. Retired faculties took over the responsibility to guide the students and provide them with special classes so that they are fully prepared before their exams. Out of 1,258 students who took the HSC exams, 1,244 cleared it with a pass percentage of 98.89%.
