Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, functioning under the HRD ministry, sets to introduce Sanskrit in Class XI from the coming academic session. Sanskrit teachers are being recruited for the purpose. In the previous session, KVS noted that only a few students from Bengaluru and Ernakulam regions had opted for Sanskrit in Class XI as they did not have PG teachers for Sanskrit. Principals of KVs where students are pursuing Sanskrit in Class X will be conducting interviews for PGT Sanskrit teachers on contractual basis.
