A ten-year old girl Paripriya Nareshbhai did not have any idea on how scientists look like or how her television showed 138 channels or why blazing rockets flew so fast and where they head to. Her dream came true when she visited ISRO’s Space Application Centre (SAC). She was amazed to see how scientists at SAC were freely interacting with 70-odd children who had turned up with her at Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition and Museum to experience science, space, astronomy and star trek.
ISRO’s SAC organized a day’s orientation programme for the kids, supported during the Pasti ki Masti drive to rein state school dropouts and fulfil educational needs of underprivileged children. Anand Niketan School, Satellite branch, which ran the old newspaper collection drive in the school between July and November, also provided its school buses for bringing these children to the exhibition.
