Parents of 80 students of the government middle school in Keechanpukkam, who had lost their lives during the December 2004 tsunami, in a solemn gesture planted as many as saplings in the school premises in memory of their beloved ones. Parents of 80 students- 32 boys and 48 girls, all aged between five and fourteen, planted 80 saplings in the school premises.
