The Times NIE Fundamental Quiz 2016 was an event where students experienced the joy of learning with their peers. The all-Mumbai senior-level quiz was held at the Yashwant Rao Natyamandir. Secondary students from city schools were quizzed on questions ranging from finance, banking, investments and general knowledge. The unique feature of this event was that each child was paired with their parent. In the first round, students were given a written test followed by a written elimination round for parents. The audience also attended a session by experts who shared right investment options and saving plans for students and parents.
To boost the morale of the participants, cheering teams from various schools gathered at the venue. Dressed in colourful costumes and armed with drums, the contingents highlighted the message `save money for a bright future’.The six teams in the finals were all father-son duos who showcased some brilliant quizzing. At the end of the event, the team from Cathedral and John Connon bagged the title followed by Ryan International School, Malad and RCB’s PMM Rotary School.
